Violence Threatens Mideast Mission
CNN reports that the U.S. diplomatic effort in the Middle East is on thin ice after violence threatened to sink a proposed trilateral meeting between Israelis, Palestinians and visiting U.S. envoy Anthony Zinni. While the proposed meeting was being discussed, a gunman opened fire in Kfar Saba, a town north of Tel Aviv, wounding at least nine people -- one critically, two seriously -- Israeli police said.
