Signs and Wonders in the Heavens

AP - ‘What is that, man?’ Navy confirms videos of flying objects
The AP reports: "The Navy isn’t offering an explanation — at least not publicly — for exactly what that object was. But the service is confirming the authenticity of that video and two others taken from its planes in 2004 and 2015. The release of the videos, which have been circulating online and in news reports, was not authorized, Navy officials said. But the footage has prompted the Navy to publicly discuss an ongoing investigation into sightings by its pilots of what it describes as 'unidentified aerial phenomena' or UAPs in U.S. airspace on both coasts."

Comment: I remember the news reports about the videos from earlier this year, maybe in April or May? Interesting that they are back again. I can't help but wonder why, after all, it's old news. Note the new and apparently trendy designation (or re-definition) of UFOs as “unidentified aerial phenomena” or UAPs. I really like that because it ties in directly with scripture and Satan's title and description as the prince and power of the air (Eph. 2:2), ie. the aerial power. We have always speculated that the rapture will be attributed to a mass-abduction and I think this would be underscored if Satan and the fallen angels put on a light show in the air right after the rapture. Nothing physical, just some lights or UAPs (LOL) zipping around, just to be deceptive and lend credibility to the abduction narrative. I think the "UFO threat" idea has a tremendous propaganda value and will have a 9/11-size impact, it will unite the countries of the world to fight against this new ET threat, immediately giving momentum to the beast A/C and changing the entire tenor of world affairs. What do you think?

Signs & Wonders in the Heavens

U.S. Navy drafting new guidelines for reporting UFOs - POLITICO
Politico reports: "The U.S. Navy is drafting new guidelines for pilots and other personnel to report encounters with 'unidentified aircraft,' a significant new step in creating a formal process to collect and analyze the unexplained sightings — and destigmatize them. The previously unreported move is in response to a series of sightings of unknown, highly advanced aircraft intruding on Navy strike groups and other sensitive military formations and facilities, the service says."

Comment: So the Navy is not saying that UFOs exist, but if their aviators happen to see them, they can report them without harm to their reputations and careers.  It's an interesting development and one more point for those who argue for full disclosure.

Signs & Wonders in the Heavens

2 airline pilots report seeing UFO while flying over Arizona - CBS News
CBS News reports: "While flying at over 30,000 feet in the air over Arizona, two airline pilots claim an unidentified flying object flew over top their planes. CBS Denver reports that both planes reported the sighting. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has also released a recording of the radio broadcasts [...] The radio logs come three months after video captured by U.S. Navy pilots offered an inside look at a secretive government program that investigated UFOs. The little-known Pentagon program had a budget of about $22 million, according to the civilian intelligence officer who used to run it. Most of the sightings it looked at were by U.S. military personnel, who have been reporting UFO sightings for decades."

Comment: It's getting pretty busy up there, wonder what's up?

Signs in the Moon

NASA telescopes relay live feed of rare super blue blood moon - UPI.com
UPI reports: "The last day of January began with the appearance of a rare phenomenon -- a super blue blood moon. NASA broadcast video from across the United States of the rare moon this morning, with the lunar eclipse ending around 9:21 a.m. ET. The moon's three modifiers -- super, blue, blood -- refer to a rare trifecta of phenomena, making it the third in a series of 'super moons.'"

Comment: Thank you NASA for sparing me having to get up at 4 AM to see the whole show.

Glowing Auras and ‘Black Money’: The Pentagon’s Mysterious U.F.O. Program - NYT
The New York Times reports: "In the $600 billion annual Defense Department budgets, the $22 million spent on the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program was almost impossible to find. Which was how the Pentagon wanted it. For years, the program investigated reports of unidentified flying objects, according to Defense Department officials, interviews with program participants and records obtained by The New York Times. [...] the program produced documents that describe sightings of aircraft that seemed to move at very high velocities with no visible signs of propulsion, or that hovered with no apparent means of lift. Officials with the program have also studied videos of encounters between unknown objects and American military aircraft - including one released in August of a whitish oval object, about the size of a commercial plane, chased by two Navy F/A-18F fighter jets from the aircraft carrier Nimitz off the coast of San Diego in 2004. [...] Contracts obtained by The Times show a congressional appropriation of just under $22 million beginning in late 2008 through 2011. [...] The funding went to Mr. Bigelow’s company, Bigelow Aerospace, which hired subcontractors and solicited research for the program. Under Mr. Bigelow’s direction, the company modified buildings in Las Vegas for the storage of metal alloys and other materials that Mr. Elizondo and program contractors said had been recovered from unidentified aerial phenomena. Researchers also studied people who said they had experienced physical effects from encounters with the objects and examined them for any physiological changes. In addition, researchers spoke to military service members who had reported sightings of strange aircraft."

Comment:  Nicely done. I mean, if you go with the "Friendly Aliens Here to Help Us" or the "Evil Aliens Attack" spin, either way it still works well as both explanation and delusion. Of course, it would be even better if people were paying attention, but you only have yourselves to blame after years of discrediting UFO sightings. Still, nicely done, love the video.

Signs in the Heavens

Watch massive asteroid fly safely by Earth - UPI.com
UPI reports: "Early Friday morning, Florence -- the largest near Earth asteroid yet discovered and tracked by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory -- will pass within 4,390,892 miles of Earth, approximately 18 times the distance between the Earth and the moon. [...] The asteroid, named for war nurse Florence Nightingale, measures between 2.5 and 5.6 miles wide --scientists will have a more accurate estimate after the flyby. Anything larger than a half mile in diameter is capable of doing catastrophic damage should it collide with Earth."

Comment: That should be interesting, glad that spotted it. Last I heard the NASA office that monitors near-Earth asteroids suffered a budget cut, maybe that has changed?

Eclipse chasers could form largest mass migration in history - UPI.com
UPI reports: "The best locations to see Monday's total solar eclipse are within a day's drive of more than 200 million Americans -- and the mega event could see one of the largest mass migrations in human history. The eclipse will occur on a sloping stretch of the United States about 70 miles wide and 2,800 miles long. The track beneath the eclipse is known as the 'path of totality,' which includes the states where the phenomenon will be best viewed -- Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia and South Carolina."

Comment: Unfortunately, I don't live anywhere near the path of totality so I'll be watching online or on TV. Those of you going to watch in person, enjoy the event!

Signs in the Heavens

Meteor lights up sky over Midwest - UPI.com
UPI reports: "Several hundred people reported a glowing meteor over the Chicago area early Monday, seen in at least six states, meteorologists said. The blue-green fireball, traveling southwest to northeast, was sighted at around 1:30 a.m. The American Meteor Society, which monitors such events, reported 185 calls about it. [...] Several police and civilian dashboard cameras, as well a camera atop the University of Wisconsin's Atmospheric, Oceanic and Space Sciences building in Madison, captured video footage of the meteor traveling across the sky and then burning out."

Comment: It's been a while since we had a good meteor sighting.

Signs in the Moon

My Way News - Supermoon plus eclipse equals rare sky show Sunday night
My Way News reports: "Get ready for a rare double feature this weekend, starring our very own moon. A total lunar eclipse will share the stage with a so-called supermoon Sunday night or early Monday, depending where you are. That combination hasn't been seen since 1982 and won't happen again until 2033. [...] This weekend's eclipse marks the end of a tetrad, or series of four total lunar eclipses set six months apart. This series began in April 2014. The 21st century will see eight of these tetrads, an uncommonly good run. From 1600 to 1900, there were none."

CNET - NASA says chill out, there's no doomsday asteroid next month
CNET reports: "Depending on what corners of the Internet you hang out in, you may be in rank fear of the End of Times brought about by an unavoidable asteroid sent to hurtle itself into the Earth's belly, creating an apocalyptic scenario for a good chunk of humanity. If that's the case, you can now rest easy. Don't worry. NASA is here to soothe you. There is no killer asteroid on the way."

Signs in the Moon - Signs in the Heavens

WND - Have ‘cash on hand,’ warns ‘blood moons’ discoverer
World Net Daily reports: "The man who discovered the existence of the blood moons tetrad is warning the astronomical events are no mere coincidence but a heavenly message from God. Pastor Mark Biltz of El Shaddai Ministries argues signs in the sky are one way God communicates with human beings. The significance of heavenly bodies, he states, is acknowledged even by those who are not religious. 'The whole world, religious and non-religious, is fascinated about the blood moons,' Biltz told WND. 'The reasons are because they’re beyond our control, they’re heavenly objects able to speak to every tribe, nation and tongue, filling us with awe and wonder and then they also have been regarded as omens all throughout world history with ominous events happening surrounding their timing.' Biltz, author of 'Blood Moons: Decoding the Imminent Heavenly Signs,' first discovered the existence of the blood moons phenomenon in 2008, later sharing his findings with other Christian leaders, including John Hagee. At that time, Biltz says he predicted economic turmoil would correspond with the final blood moon."

Comment: It will be interesting to see how things transpire. I'm leaning towards the view that such signs are more for the people of Israel than for humanity in general and may portend great events in the Middle East. Let's be watchful.

Rumors of War - King of the North - Kings of the East

Space War - Brand New Russian, Chinese Hypersonic Weapons Unnerve US
Space War reports: High-ranking US military officials acknowledged that highly maneuverable, ultra-fast and elusive hypersonic arms Russia and China are developing pose a strategic threat to the United States, who lacks hypersonics at the moment, national security expert Bill Gertz said. [...] In June, military experts said that Russia was test-launching a new hypersonic attack aircraft (Yu-71) that could carry nuclear warheads and penetrate missile defense systems."

My Way News - Ring of light: Total eclipse over Svalbard islands in Arctic
My Way News reports: "Sky-gazers looked up in awe Friday as the moon blocked the sun in a total solar eclipse that momentarily darkened a slice of northern Europe. The most spectacular viewing came on Norway's Svalbard islands near the North Pole, where a bright clear day and blindingly white snow highlighted the cosmic wonder that used to bring ancient civilizations to a trembling halt. Visitors to the Arctic islands were treated to a full view of the sun's corona — a faint ring of rays surrounding the moon — that is only visible during a total eclipse."

Yahoo News Digest — Friday's solar eclipse is like nothing we'll see for another 19 years
Yahoo News reports: "This Friday, a rare total solar eclipse will be visible across parts of Greenland, Europe, and North Africa. Not only is this the only total solar eclipse in 2015, it’s the last of its kind for another 19 years. Total solar eclipses are pretty rare in themselves, but it’s also the first total solar eclipse of the 21st century that occurs on the same day as the first day of spring. To have the moon block out the sun on the same day as the vernal equinox, the first day of spring, is even more rare. It won’t happen again until the year 2034."

My Way News - Best-of-summer meteor shower eclipsed by supermoon
My Way News reports: "The annual best-of-summer meteor shower peaks late Tuesday and into the wee hours Wednesday morning. But don't expect to be too wowed. NASA meteor expert Bill Cooke said the bigger, brighter supermoon will interfere with viewing the Perseids (pur-SEE-uhds), but it should still be fun, weather permitting. It peaks after 2:30 a.m."

Signs in the Moon

My Way News - Heads up! Supermoon is here
My Way News reports: "Because our celestial neighbor is relatively close to Earth, these full moons will appear to be unusually large. That distance varies because the moon follows an elliptical orbit. When it's close and full, it appears bigger and brighter than normal, although the difference can be hard to detect. [...] Two other supermoons will come later this summer on Aug. 10 and Sept. 9."

Signs in the Sun

My Way News - Antarctic prime spot for Tuesday's solar eclipse
My Way News reports: "The solar eclipse will be visible to skygazers in Antarctica, Australia, and the southern Indian Ocean about 0600 GMT (2 a.m. EDT). It's one of two solar eclipses in 2014, when the moon lines up between Earth and the sun. This one is a rare type of annular eclipse, meaning the sun will appear as a ring around the moon."

Signs in the Moon

My Way News - Full lunar eclipse delights Americas, 1st of year
My Way News reports: "Sky-gazers in North and South America were treated to a full lunar eclipse - at least those fortunate enough to have clear skies. [...] For some, the moon appeared red-orange because of all the sunsets and sunrises shimmering from Earth, thus the name 'blood moon.' It's the first of four eclipses this year and the first of four total lunar eclipses this year and next. The latter is a rare lineup; the next so-called tetrad of total lunar eclipses won't occur until 2032-2033. In the meantime, get ready for a solar eclipse in two weeks."

Reuters - Earth marks close encounter with enormous asteroid
Reuters reports: "An asteroid estimated to be the size of three football fields whizzed close to Earth on Monday, roughly a year after one exploded over Russia and injured 1,200 people."

Comment: Does it seem like we are seeing a lot more of these things?
