Moon Joins Planetary Alignment
The planet Venus and Earth's moon will have an eye-popping close encounter on Tuesday, May 14th. Finding the pair is easy: simply face west after sunset. The slender crescent moon will lie less than two degrees (about the width of your index finger held at arm's length) from brilliant Venus. A bonus: Look at the moon's dark terrain. Sunlight reflected from our own planet makes it glow. A crescent moon with "Earthshine" is one of the loveliest sights in the heavens. :: This SpaceWeather report submitted for your signs in the stars and moon (Luke 21:25) files.
