Thank you to Kath, who wrote to recommend Yaccs. Yaccs does seem to be the most popular commenting system out there, especially for Blogger hosted blogs. Unfortunately, it's so popular that they limit the number of people who can sign up for it each day. I'll try again tomorrow.
