My Way News - Russia offers peacekeepers for Golan Heights
My Way News reports: "President Vladimir Putin offered on Friday to send Russian troops to the Golan Heights to replace the Austrians who are withdrawing from the U.N. peacekeeping force that monitors the disengagement of Israeli and Syrian forces. [...] council members agreed that Syria and Israel would have to approve a Russian deployment."

Comment: This is a very interesting and unexpected development. On the one hand, I'm tempted to dismiss it out of hand, after all, it's not as if Israel is likely to agree. On the other hand, the presence of a small contingent of Russia troops in harms way may be the "hook" that drives Russia into fulfilling it's prophetic role.
