Slow fight for Mosul could take a while, officials say - UPI.com
UPI reports: "Coalition forces in Iraq are slowly and steadily marching toward the
contested northern city of Mosul, but pockets of armed resistance from
militant insurgents along the way suggest it will be a protracted fight,
at least according to military strategists.
Iraqi government, Kurdish, Peshmerga and other forces, some of whom are
trained by the Pentagon, have been gearing up for the Mosul Offensive
for weeks to take back the town from the Islamic State terror group.
Monday marked the start of the campaign, which by all accounts might
take a while."
