Microsoft Defends .NET Passport
Microsoft insisted Tuesday that its .NET Passport service complied with European data protection laws, rejecting charges that it is "surreptitiously" collecting and passing on personal information about users. :: This AP report submitted for your mark of the beast (Rev 13:16-18) files. :: Digital ID verification and e-commerce go hand-in-hand and would seem to be what the mark is all about. Sure, we can go lowtek and say the mark will just be a tattoo, but really, in this high tech 21st Century world, I'm betting that the mark will be some combination of biometrics, ID verification, VeriChip, and digital watermark technology. Right now, I lean toward digital watermarks, but really, no matter how it turns out, the question for today is, how much do you really trust Microsoft to manage your digital identity?
