My Way News - U.S. Abortions at Lowest Rate Since 1974
AP reports: "The number of abortions in the United States fell to 1.2 million in 2005, down 25 percent from the all-time high of 1.6 million in 1990 and dropping the abortion rate to its lowest level since 1974, according to report issued Thursday."

Comment: This is good news, I hope the trend continues. Still, 1.2 million is a lot of dead babies. How can people of good conscience overlook that number? Obviously the moral argument doesn't work for a lot of people. Ok, maybe we need more practical arguments. How can we as a society overlook that number of future tax-payers? How can politicians overlook that number of future voters? Think of all the good that those 1.2 million people may have done that will now never get done, songs and books never written, movies never made, art never created, discoveries never made, inventions never dreamed up. How can we as a society be better off without those 1.2 million people? What kind of anti-life force compels 1.2 million mothers to believe that the world would be better of without their child in it?
