Haaretz reports: "Schools in the south reopened yesterday, hours after an informal Egypt-brokered cease-fire aimed at putting an end to Palestinian rocket fire from the Gaza Strip and Israeli reprisals reportedly went into effect.The truce took effect on midnight Wednesday, according to French news agency AFP."
