My Way News - Gulf Arabs welcome Iran nuke deal but seek further assurance
My Way News reports: "Gulf Arab states on Monday welcomed the nuclear deal negotiated between
Iran and world powers but said they would like further assurances that
the U.S. would help them counter increasing Iranian assertiveness in the
region. [...] Al-Attiyah, the Qatari foreign minister, said the Gulf Arabs ultimately would like to see a ban on nuclear weapons in the entire Middle East — a pointed jab at Israel which is widely believed to have the bomb — and that the Iran deal could be the first step in a process to bring one about."
Comment: I'm now convinced that the Iran deal will provide the model for the Covenant with Many of Daniel 9:27 and it will be an arms control agreement, not a peace treaty, as most pre-Trib Bible prophecy scholars assert. Peace treaties don't often have a time period (seven years, in the case of the CWM), but arms control treaties (as we see with the Iran deal) are often implemented in stages over a set period of time. The idea is starting to catch on that the Iran deal can form the basis of a "regional" security agreement that is really focused on Israeli disarmament. It will be interesting to see how this idea takes root in the region as things progress.
