NATO accuses Russia of breaking nuclear treaty; Mike Pompeo threatens U.S. withdrawal
UPI reports: "NATO leaders on Tuesday accused Russia of failing to abide by the
Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty, an agreement U.S. Secretary of
State Mike Pompeo threatened to withdraw the United States from unless
Moscow complies.
NATO foreign ministers, who met in Brussels, issued a statement
condemning Russia for developing and fielding a missile system, a
violation of the INF Treaty of 1987. The treaty banned all land-based
cruise missiles with a range of between 310 miles and 3,417 miles."
Comment: You know, there are people who believe that there's never been a safer time to be alive. It's a nice idea, but if we are on the verge of another nuclear arms race, they may want to rethink that notion.
