Russian President Vladimir Putin orders troops out of Syria - UPI.com
UPI reports: "Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday said he will begin
withdrawing troops from Syria this week as the peace process moves
forward in the war-torn nation.
Putin had military forces in Syria for months, primarily to fight
terrorist factions, to aid the regime of President Bashar Assad.
Additionally, Moscow has pummeled parts of Syria with airstrikes for
months."
Comment: I wonder how many Russian troops will stay in Syria? This report doesn't say, but I'm sure a good-sized contingent will remain to keep Russian control over the port facility in Tartus.
