Donald Trump signs bill toughening sanctions on Russia, Iran and North Korea - UPI.com
UPI reports: "President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed into law a bill to
strengthen sanctions against Russia, North Korea and Iran, a White House
signing statement shows.
The signing statement indicates Trump expressed reservations about the
bill's impact, saying it encroaches on presidential authority and may
harm the United States' ability to work with allies on how to deal with
Russia."
Comment: While we are far from Cold War-era levels of tension with Russia, it's clear that U.S. - Russian relations are only going in one direction. This raises the prospect that we are only one unfortunate incident away from going back into full Cold War.
