TENT CITIES TO HOUSE 1,000 ACTIVISTS

Beyond the endless rows of greenhouses outside the little known Gush Katif settlement of Bene Atzmon, a road meanders towards that community's outpost, Kerem Atzmon.

Set behind the outpost's two crescents of trailer homes are about a dozen green tents pitched on beds of concrete.

Called a "tent city" by its teenage residents, the enclave is one of at least five such encampments set up in Gush Katif. The tents are to house about 1,000 activists who have decided to take a stand alongside the residents of Gush Katif.
