My Way News - Hamas says Carter visit a boost to militants' legitimacy
AP reports: "Hamas officials said Wednesday that Jimmy Carter's meetings with leaders of the Palestinian militant group will boost its legitimacy despite criticism by Israel and the U.S. government of the former president's personal peace mission."
Comment: Carter's moral compass has always been off. I used to think that he was getting senile, but I think he has displayed a remarkable consistency in his views over the course of his political life, it's just that his views represent a inversion of standard morality. In his view the good guys are bad guys and the bad guys become the good guys. In creating this moral gray zone he then seeks to bridge the gap, and in so doing he becomes a peacemaker. Sadly, the peace he makes requires the transformation of dictators and despots from rogue status to peace partners, a PR move to facilitate a respectable peace. Some may agree with this approach, I do not.
