100 years: Israelis, British honor Balfour Declaration, Palestinians protest - UPI.com
UPI reports: "Thousands gathered across the Middle East on Thursday to protest the
centenary of Britain's declaration of support for a Jewish homeland in
Palestine, some being met with military force.
The so-called Balfour Declaration -- in which British Foreign Secretary
Arthur Balfour sent a letter to Lord Rothschild in 1917 giving support
for a Jewish homeland -- made way for the future establishment of
Israel."
Comment: The anti-Israel bias in this report is strong. Sorry silly reporter, it's not the "so-called Balfour Declaration," that is the actual name that appears in history books. I find it uprising that editors continue to allow reporters to use "so-called" in front of what is otherwise accepted terminology to demonstrate scorn, doubt or disapproval.
