Iran shows off missile to mark anniversary of U.S. Embassy takeover - UPI.com
UPI reports: "Iran marked the 38th anniversary of the takeover of the U.S. Embassy in
Tehran on Saturday by displaying a missile and holding anti-U.S.
demonstrations.
Iran showed off its most powerful missile, the liquid-filled,
surface-to-surface Qadr, which the semiofficial Fars News agency says it
can travel 1,243 miles, including to Israel.
Demonstrators held anti-U.S. and anti-Israel signs and chanted slogans,
including 'Down With the US,' condemning Washington's policies toward
Iran.
They gathered at the former embassy where Iranian student
revolutionaries climbed over the walls on Nov. 4, 1979, and seized 52
Americans, holding them hostage for 444 days."
Comment: It's sad to see an entire country in thrall to an imported religion that has nothing to do with their ancient Persian civilization. Perhaps they will snap out of it in time.
