China asked U.S. officials to remove THAAD from South Korea - UPI.com
UPI reports: "The Chinese government asked the United States to remove the U.S. THAAD
battery deployed in central South Korea and claimed the United States
acknowledged Tibet as a part of China, after the U.S.-China Diplomatic
and Security Dialogue concluded on Wednesday. [...] China did not give
details on the U.S. response to the proposition Chinese government
officials raised during the meeting."
Comment: They may use the word "ask" in public but I would imagine that more forceful language has been used behind the scenes. From other sources I've read, China considers the advanced radar at the heart of the THAAD missile defense system to be a threat to their military, much in the same was we would view radar systems run by Russia but based in Mexico or Canada. It will be interesting to see how this develops.
