Comment: The EU is having a leadership crisis. The current EU president is an inexperienced and discredited leader who does not speak for the majority of great powers in Europe. This incident will force many to note that this would never have happened if the treaty had been approved and a more institutionalized presidency implemented. Perhaps it will cause a change in thinking about the treaty and the need for a strong EU president?
