This AP chronology on the 40th anniversary of the Six-Day War notes that it was on June 7, 1967 that Israel reclaimed control over the Temple Mount for the first time since the Roman occupation:
June 7: Israeli soldiers capture Jerusalem's Old City, including shrines [The Temple Mount] sacred to Judaism, Christianity and Islam, and take control of entire West Bank. Jordan accepts cease-fire.
