BBC NEWS - EU vows to pursue Lisbon treaty

The BBC reports: "EU foreign ministers have agreed to keep the Lisbon reform treaty alive despite its rejection by Irish voters. The ministers said those EU members who have not yet ratified the treaty should carry on and do so."

Comment:
This report suggests that EU leaders are determined to pass this treaty and will push forward with ratification by those states remaining while figuring out how to "get around" the Irish rejection. So much for democracy. Let's pay attention to that statement about a "coalition of the willing" as an example of growing sentiment for a two-tier EU.
