My Way News - Pakistan troops ordered to open fire on US raiders
AP reports: "Pakistan's army said Tuesday that its forces have orders to open fire if U.S. troops launch another raid across the Afghan border, raising the stakes in a dispute over how to tackle militant havens in Pakistan's unruly border zone."

Comment: Fire on U.S. raiders? Well, at least the name "U.S. raiders" sounds cool. A local approach that involves living with and working with clan and sectarian leaders has worked well in Iraq, it's too bad that Bush's policy is alienating the very people the U.S. needs to fight the Taliban and al-Qaeda in Pakistan. And if our squeamish NATO allies leave Afghanistan, exactly who will the U.S. work with, who will be our ally and provide the kind of on-the-ground support and intelligence that is needed to win the war? Has it never occurred to Bush that the time honored strategy of "divide and conquer" is being used against the U.S. and our key regional allies?
