My Way News - Legionnaires' outbreaks not unusual in summer & early fall
My Way News reports: "Legionnaires' disease has been reported in a handful of states this
summer, leading to 19 deaths and more than 100 illnesses. [...] While
such outbreaks have become more common in recent years, experts don't
know if that's because of better reporting or surveillance, or if the
disease, a type of pneumonia, is truly becoming more prevalent, said Dr.
Matthew Moore, a medical epidemiologist at the federal Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention.
