Rumors of War

Lockheed awarded $928M for hypersonic strike weapon - UPI.com
UPI reports: "Lockheed Martin was awarded a contract from the U.S. Air Force for the hypersonic conventional strike weapon. The deal, announced Wednesday by the Department of Defense, is valued at $928 million under the terms of a indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract."

Comment: There are those who say that China's recent strategy in the South China Sea has been emboldened by a having a new generation of missiles, what they call "carrier killers" that can slice through defenses and destroy an aircraft carrier. Well, folks, it's just a good old-fashioned arms race, the U.S. is building them as well.
