Arafat Vows He Won't Step Down
Resisting international pressure that he leave office, Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat declared Friday he would not step down — but also said he hadn't decided whether to run for office in January elections. :: This AP report is submitted for your covenant with many (Daniel 9:27) files. Arafat, the terrorist who came to dinner and stayed, and stayed, and stayed. Pundits like to say that the U.S. should not tell other countries who their leaders should be. Quite so. However, the Palestinian Authority is not a country, it's an administrative unit established under the Oslo process for the purpose of securing Mideast peace. If it is not fulfilling that function it is appropriate for the founders and funders of the PLA to demand changes.
