Much of his new found popularity, especially with the Arab public, is probably due to his confrontation with Israel."

Reuters reports: "Turkey warned on Tuesday that it was preparing a possible ground operation against Kurdish separatist militants in northern Iraq, depending on the result of talks with Iraq."

Comment: There has been a profound change in the leadership in Ankara and yet they still turn to the time-worn Arab strategy of boosting their standing by bashing Israel. It would be comical if it weren't so deadly serious.
