My Way News - Medvedev: Putin Should Be Prime Minister

AP reports: "The day after President Vladimir Putin threw his colossal political weight behind a loyal aide in the 2008 presidential race, the aide returned the favor Tuesday, urging Putin to accept the post of prime minister."

Comment: Nice move, at last we can see exactly how Putin will retain power. So, Putin stays in power, in some fashion or another, and continues to chart an independent course for Russia, and most importantly for our concerns, increases Russian influence in the Middle East. Next, expect him to leverage his Quartet membership to host the next major Mideast Peace Conference in Moscow next year with the aim of shielding Iran from intrusive nuclear inspections and bolstering ally (and former Soviet client state) Syria.
