UPI.com - Israelis to propose new peace plan
UPI reports: "A group of prominent Israeli defense officials in Tel Aviv appears ready to unveil a proposal for a new peace initiative with the Arab world. The group which includes the former heads of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad and Israel Security Agency plan to reveal their proposal at a press conference Wednesday, The New York Times reported, noting it had obtained a copy of the initiative."

Comment: The peace process is dead, long live the peace process. It's always amazed me how they don't allow facts on the ground to get in the way of illusions of peace. Never mind the rockets that rain down on Israel, never mind that the Palestinians have made no significant gesture for peace in years, never mind that the protest movement in the region has strengthened Islamists and overthrown moderates (like Mubarak, an ally of the West and enforcer of a peace treaty with Israel), they will go on acting like it's possible to negotiate peace.
