My Way News - NATO pulls its punches on penalty against Russia
AP reports: "NATO pulled its punches against Russia on Tuesday, suspending formal contacts as punishment for the Georgia invasion but bucking U.S. pressure for more severe penalties [...] there was no consensus for more robust expressions of backing for Georgia or displeasure with Moscow."

Comment: The most powerful military alliance on the planet looked at Russia's invasion of a Western leaning democratic country...and did nothing. NATO may have just consigned itself to the dustbin of history. Next up, the EU will formally meet to decide on their collective response. This is an opportunity for those who believe in the New Rome theory of Bible prophecy to find in these events a trend suggesting an assertive EU ready to meet this new challenge from Russia. There is little indication that the EU will step up, they are cowed by Russia's control of their energy, but we will keep watching.
