My Way News - EU seeks better trans-Atlantic ties
My Way News reports: "The EU called on the U.S. on Friday to upgrade trans-Atlantic relations, insisting that when it comes to crafting a new world order, Europe is a more significant ally than China and other emerging economies [...] Barroso said the U.S. and the 27-nation EU account for half of global economic output and 40 percent of world trade."

Comment: Imagine if you will a future in which the EU, the U.S. and Canada counter the rise of other powers by joining together into an Atlantic Union. Their militaries are already coordinated in NATO, so closer economic cooperation would complement the military cooperation that already exists. Usually, security coordination follows economic cooperation, so in a sense, they have already accomplished the hard part. Now, for the easy part. What, think it can't happen?
