My Way News - Study: Last Supper paintings supersize the food
My Way News reports: "The Bible says the Last Supper took place on a Passover evening but gives little detail on specific foods besides bread and wine. [...] For the study, he used paintings featured in the book 'Last Supper,' published in 2000 by Phaidon Press. They include perhaps the most famous portrayal of the meal, by Leonardo da Vinci. Computer technology allowed them to scan, rotate and calculate images regardless of their orientation in the paintings."

Comment: Since none of the paintings involved in this study realistically portray how people ate at the time (which is to say, reclining at a low table, not sitting upright in chairs at a high table as we do now) I would not be surprised to learn that they did not accurately portray the actual meal. Anyway, you can view some of the images used in the study here.
