My Way News - Quake in western China kills 589, buries more
My Way News reports: "Soldiers and civilians used shovels and their bare hands to dig through collapsed buildings in search of survivors after strong earthquakes struck a mountainous Tibetan region of China on Wednesday, killing at least 589 people and injuring more than 10,000."

MSNBC - Is Earth shaking more?
MSNBC reports: "As the numbers of buried or dead continue to climb from today's 6.9-magnitude earthquake in China, an event so close on the heels of the devastating Chile and Haiti earthquakes, you might wonder if Earth is shaking more lately. Perhaps, scientists say, but not unusually so."

MSNBC - What was different about China's quake?
MSNBC reports: "The earthquake that struck China in the early hours of the morning was different than some of the major temblors that have struck around the world so far this year in that it occurred in the middle of one of Earth's tectonic plates, instead of at the junction between them."

Comment: I wonder how long it will be before we get a geologist or seismologist to say that earthquakes are increasing in frequency and intensity and that the data supports that conclusion? I know that at the present time, they say the data does not support that conclusion. They say we are simply seeing more people move into quake prone zones with poor building quality (not building to survive quakes) and mass media report quakes in the 24/7 news cycle more now than in the past, and that is why we are more aware of quakes. However, if we take seriously the "birth pains" prophecy we will reach a point where they will have to concede that something more than human migration, shoddy construction and mass media is at work.
