My Way News - Israel boat raid sparks condemnations, protests
My Way News reports: "Turkey withdrew its ambassador to Israel and called for an emergency session of the U.N. Security Council as condemnations erupted across Europe and the Arab world Monday over Israel's deadly commando raid on ships taking humanitarian aid to the blockaded Gaza Strip."

My Way News - Ties with Israel may outlast Turkish anger at raid
My Way News reports: "Israel's deadly raid on a Gaza-bound aid ship has ignited unprecedented anger in Turkey and driven the Jewish state's relations with its most important Muslim ally to their lowest point in six decades. There are signs, however, that the countries' long-term strategic alliance and military ties will endure."

Comment: This seems to be a decisive moment the for long anticipated transition from Turkey as pre-Western power to Turkey as Islamist power. Turkey was actually an unofficial sponsor of the Gaza activists and they are actively instigating "outrage" over Israel's defense of the blockade. It seems clear that they are manufacturing this crisis but their long-term agenda is not clear. How will this effect the military ties between the two countries? Does Turkey mean to sever the relationship? We know that eventually they will fall into a future alliance with Iran and Russia against Israel, but I'm just very surprised to see events move so quickly. Isn't it funny how all the "outrage" is directed as Israel and none at Egypt, which also maintains a blockade on Gaza.
