My Way News - Pope John Paul II moves a step closer to sainthood
My Way News reports: "Once he is beatified, John Paul will be given the title 'blessed' and can be publicly venerated, or worshipped. Many people, especially in Poland, already venerate him privately, but the ceremony will allow Catholics to publicly worship him."

Comment: It's pure idolatry, but try to tell that to a Catholic. See my earlier comments (here and here) on why this is entire saint-making process is in error. The really sad thing about this is that the Catholic Church has resurrected the Roman pantheon and filled it not with pagan demigods but with saints that serve the same purpose. There's a patron saint for nations, objects, places, and even careers. And the more you "pray" to them and go down that road the more you distance yourself from Jesus, the only true mediator between God and Man. So go ahead and pray to Saint Joseph or to Rome's Minerva, but don't think it's the same thing as praying to God.
