Rumors of War - King of the North

U.S. intelligence officials on guard for potential Russian election hacks - UPI.com
UPI reports: "U.S. intelligence officials said they are preparing for the potential of Russian cyber meddling on the eve of a presidential election and in the days afterward. Officials told The Washington Post and NBC News they view it as unlikely the Russians have the ability to directly hack election systems and sway the outcome of the race, but cautioned they may ramp up their steady efforts to influence voters and sow doubts that could delegitimize the outcome for some voters."

Comment: It's an extraordinary testament to Russia's lack of respect or fear of the U.S. that they would even dare interfere in the U.S. presidential election. You would think that would be a self-evident "red line" that they would not dare cross. The ability of the U.S. to respond to such attacks in not in doubt. The consequences of a full-scale cyberwar though, definitely in doubt, as it would be unprecedented. Perilous times indeed.
