Saudis Warning Against Attack by U.S. on Iraq
The New York Times reports that the Saudi crown prince Saturday joined the chorus of very public Arab warnings to Washington about its talk of possible military action to oust Saddam Hussein. In every Arab capital he has visited, Cheney has encountered an Arab desire to directly link American efforts to resolve the Mideast conflict to Arab support for an attack on Iraq. He found the same linkage in his visit to Saudi Arabia. Arab leaders have made it clear that there is no support for an attack on Iraq without first resolving the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. Submitted for your rumor of war and battle for Jerusalem files.
