BBC NEWS - Ahmadinejad defiant on 'free' Iran poll

The BBC reports: "Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has defended his 'completely free' re-election as Iran's president, amid violent clashes on the streets over claims of election fraud. [...] BBC Iranian affairs analyst Sadeq Saba says the margin of the win was so wide that it made a lot of people suspicious."

My Way News - Israel's foreign minister sees threat in Iran vote
AP reports: "Israel's foreign minister said Saturday that the re-election of hard-line Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad highlighted the urgent need for the West to forcefully act against Tehran's nuclear program."

Comment: It's sad to see Iran's democracy undermined by the dictatorship of the mullahs, but did anyone really expect them to allow a Western leaning government, friendly to civil liberties and women's rights, come to power? The only question now is how harshly they will deal with the civil unrest sparked the disappointment of Mousavi's supporters. Our real concern is how an emboldened Ahmadinejad will deal with the U.N. and the U.S. over the nuclear issue, and of course, Israel. This is a great setback, it means that Iran's path on the road to total enmity for the West and Israel will not be moderated.
