My Way News - Rivals both claim victory in Iran's election

AP reports: "Hard-line incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was heading for a surprise landslide with nearly 80 percent of votes counted in Iran's stormy presidential elections, the Interior Ministry said Saturday. But his pro-reform rival countered that he was the clear victor and accused authorities of fraud. [...] The race will go to a runoff on June 19 if no candidate receives a simple majority of more than 50 percent of the votes cast."

Comment: This would appear to be far from over. This is a very important event in terms of Bible prophecy because it will give us some insight into how close we are to the Ezekiel 38:5 invasion of Israel. Does Iran continue down a radical path, growing stronger in opposition to the West and to Israel? Or, does Iran take a moderate turn, open up more to the West and grant more freedoms to the people before the conservatives eventually fight back and return the country to the radical course?
